Thousands Experiencing Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, generating powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Homeowners reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around one thousand households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations received nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mostly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Hoppers Crossing area - multiple emergency calls
- Wyndham region - over 175 calls for assistance
During the peak on yesterday, over 28,000 power users in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the state.
